This year on the 13 June, our Year 5 and 6 students are once again taking on the Kokoda Challenge. We have registered a massive 14 teams this year (consisting of 4 students and 1 teacher in each team). Our teams have been hitting the back tracks of our national parks and training hard on weekends, under the supervision and guidance of teachers and support staff, in preparation for the gruelling 18km in rugged terrain on the outskirts of Brisbane.
The Kokoda Challenge embodies the Spirit of Kokoda through Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice and each student who participates is shown how these core values are still very relevant today.
Each team entering the Challenge is required to fundraise $265 to go towards the Kokoda Youth Foundation, an Australian charity who run a range of youth programs to support local youth and our teams are well on their way to reaching their fundraising targets.
Support our students in taking part in this year's Kokoda Challenge.
