Each year Benowa State School competes in the Annual Gold Coast Sumo Robotics Champtionships.
Students work closely with Benowa State High School students and teachers in their Robotics department learning how to build and code their lego robots. Robots are engineered for optimal competition performance considering speed, weight, dimensions and various attachments.
The students then join 112 other teams from 16 schools from across the region for a sumo battle where the aim is to push their opponent out of the competition ring. Our students are challenged on multiple levels and have been successful across the board.
