Students within catchment
All students, whose principle place of residence is within the school’s catchment area/s are subject to the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 eligible for enrolment at the school. The school Principal will hold places for students who relocate to within the catchment area throughout the school year.
Parents who wish to enrol their children at the school will need to demonstrate that the student’s principal place of residence is within the catchment area. Current proof of residency at the address indicated can be provided by way of one of each of the following:
One primary source – a current lease agreement, or driver’s licence, or unconditional sale agreement.
One secondary source – a utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas), or rates notice showing this same address.
If unable to provide this proof of residence, the Principal may consider a properly sworn Statutory Declaration from the enrolling parent swearing that the student’s principle place of residence is the place nominated in the enrolment application.
Applicants should note that a false statement/assertion about the student’s principle place of residence can amount to fraud and may be reported to police to be investigated. The school principal may consider repealing a decision to enrol a student in such circumstances. Please view our local catchment area.

Out of catchment enrolments
Families outside the enrolment boundary may submit an application for enrolment but there is no guarantee that a place will be offered.
From the 1 January 2016 Benowa State Schooll has introduced an application fee of $100 dollars for outside catchment applications. This fee is payable on submitting an enrolment form.
This fee will be added as a credit to your account for use to pay school fees and excursions once your child has started at the school.
If the school decides not to uphold your application for enrolment by Friday 24 November 2017, we will refund your deposit in full.
Should you decide not to proceed with the enrolment and withdraw your application your $100 fee will not be refunded.
Places for students outside the enrolment boundary are managed to ensure an even spread of students across year levels and to ensure the total enrolment does not exceed the school’s accommodation capacity.
Prep is available to all children who have their fifth birthday from 1 July in the year preceding prep, to the 30 June during their Prep year.
We take pride in all that Benowa State School has to offer. We hope that you will join in and become part of the Benowa family.
